Artistic director: francesco rissoinspiration: an exploration of patchwork and collages from the beginning to the end of the show. the fantastic tale of alice in wonderland expressed by francesco risso’s creative vision.collection: a work around materials and structures to form a wardrobe in patchwork with long rigid coats and dresses with straps that tie on the front. the knit is also adorned with various coloured pieces patched together. metallic decorations reveal the openings of futuristic tunic dresses. the materials take different variations, sometimes worn, faded or raw. the designer also wanted to pay tribute to the craftsmanship through this bold collection.to note: the long jumper made with coloured knit, the hair of the models flattened on their heads, the gold glitter scattered on their fingers and faces, the worn trainers and the appearance of the designer wearing the costume of the rabbit from alice in wonderland. interview : it started from a question and it’s still an unresolved question, how we somehow live in a sort of like neuro-techno psychedelic world and we’re trying to find more roots or is it the opposite, are we in a caged world and we’re trying to escape and find escapades through psychedelia, so yes it’s been quite a mysterious process to make this collection.actually that was the intention, to create something that was abstract, even to our knowledge, that wasn’t necessarily recognisable to our eyes as an object that came from the past and it would be in extreme contrast for instance with the other patterns of the venetian tapestries that were actually made with the looms that were invented by leonardo de vinci so there’s almost like a time warp. music from the show (to use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information)
