An almost entirely digital London Fashion Week opened Saturday with humanitarian and eco-responsible visions, best exemplified by Bethany Williams, the socially engaged designer who has long used recycled garments.
With the UK off limits due to many nations due to the pandemic, the next London Fashion Week takes place under tricky conditions, however the British Fashion Council has pulled plenty of action into the season.
LFW has announced its provisional line-up for February and while many in the industry had hoped that the fashion week and tradeshow season might be closer to normal by then, it’s clear that those hopes were premature.
London-based fashion brand Qasimi remains under family control. Following founder Khalid Al Qasimi’s death in July, the brand has announced that his twin sister Hoor Al Qasimi will take over as creative director.
Khalid al Qasimi, a crown prince from the United Arab Emirates and a fashion designer, has died at his home in London aged 39. His fashion brand Qasimi has shown at London Fashion Week Men’s and Paris Fashion Week Men’s.
