Woolmark Prize: Franca Sozzani, Haider Ackermann to judge menswear final

The International Woolmark Prize announced on Friday the judging panel for its menswear final, which will take place on 13 January 2016 in Florence, Italy during fashion fair Pitti Uomo. According to a statement, judges will include Editor-in-Chief of L’Uomo Vogue, Franca Sozzani; menswear designer Haider Ackermann, Business of Fashion founder, Imran Amed and fashion journalist Suzy Menkes.

The lineup will also be rounded up with Fashion Director of Esquire, Nick Sullivan; Editor-In-Chief of GC Japan, Masafumi Suzuki; Director of Strategy and Vision of Polimoda; Chief Executive of Pitti Uomo, Raffaello Napoleone and the MD of the Woolmark Prize, Stuart McCullough.

In addition, representatives from the International Woolmark Prize’s retail partners will also serve on the judging panel, including MatchesFashion.com Style Director, Simon Chilvers, and David Jones’s General Manager of Menswear, Deborah Foreman.

The finalists of the International Woolmark Prize menswear were selected from more than 70 nominees across the globe. They are Munsoo Kwon (Asia), P. Johnson (Australia), Agi & Sam (British Isles), Jonathan Christopher (Europe), Suketdhir (India, Pakistan & Middle East) and Siki Im (USA).

The winner will receive AU$100,000 to help support the development of their business and ongoing industry mentor support, as well as the presentation and sale of their capsule collection in some of the world’s most prestigious department stores and boutiques.
