TheMicam sets off on tour, from Dubai to São Paulo
The Italian footwear manufacturers' association Assocalzaturifici has set off on a world tour to showcase "Italian manufacturing excellence" and the next edition of the footwear trade show TheMicam, scheduled from 3rd to 6th September in Milan. The tour is supported by the Italian Economic Development Ministry and by ICE, the Italian Foreign Trade Institute.
Representatives of the Italian footwear industry will travel in stages to Dubai, New York, London, Moscow and São Paulo with the 'The Art of Walking - Shoes Stories' exhibition, featuring a selection of iconic made in Italy footwear models selected from the museums in Vigevano and Sant’Elpidio a Mare, Italy's two leading footwear industry districts.
Each model will be displayed in a contemporary context and linked to a specific trend. The exhibition will also feature a presentation by trend forecasting company WGSN, offering on outlook on current footwear trends.
The tour's first stage will be Dubai, at the Dubai Mall shopping centre, from 25th to 27th May. New York will follow on 10th June, in parallel with the Fashion Footwear Association of New York event, then London on 20th June at the Italian Embassy, Moscow on 23rd June at the International Film Festival, and finally São Paulo, Brazil, from 26th to 29th June, with a promotional booth within the Francal fashion and accessories show.
