The aim of the Designers' Nest initiative is to "expose and promote up-and-coming Scandinavian designers to global buyers, designers, media and trendsetters who visit the biannual fashion fair, thus consolidating and expanding Denmark as a fashion nation." Denmark's Crown Princess Mary is the patron of Designers’ Nest Show & Award, and the jury consists of a mix of Danish and International prominent figures from the fashion industry.

This year, the winner of the award is Camilla Arnbert from The Swedish School of Textiles. The jury commented: "Her work is marked by innovative choice of material. She is taking print to the next level without compromising an interesting silhouette. She has created a delicate yet irregular surface which is very impressive." Arnbert will receive the cash prize of 50,000.00 DKK.

First runner up was Katrine Hoffman from The Royal Danish Academy. The jury said her collection has a "profound artistic theory and high level of craftsmanship. She has built an entire body, which is experienced as "ordinary discomfort."

Maria Suomalainen was named second runner up, and also received the "Eyes on Talent" special mention. The jury highlighted "her impressive study of volume and simplicity. She has a lovely feel for material and shape as well as a unique take on the relationship between the body and garment."

The Designers' Nest Awards took place on Friday February 5th during Copenhagen Fashion Week at the Hotel D'Angleterre.
