Rent the Runway this week opened a new flagship store in New York City at 30 West 15th Street in Flatiron.
The 5,000-square-foot flagship store, much like the other Rent the Runway brick-and-mortar locations, is an extension of the clothing rental services’ website. The front of the store houses check-in kiosks for shoppers to pick up or return orders, and for store associates to know what styles customers were browsing online. Customers also have the option to work one-on-one with a Master Stylist to try on pieces at the Style Studio.
Rent the Runway previously operated a store in Flatiron, but it relocated to the new address to expand its retail footprint. In 2013, Rent the Runway opened a shop-in-shop in Henri Bendel in New York City, which marked as its first retail experience, and opened its first standalone location in 2014.
Jennifer Hyman and Jennifer Fleiss co-founded Rent the Runway and currently works with over 400 designers. The rental service currently operates 7 brick-and-mortar locations including a Style Studio in New York City’s SoHo and a shop-in-shop at Neiman Marcus, which opened in November.
