Nike on Tuesday launched its new Nike+ app on iOS and Android. The new app gives users access to Nike products, guidance and live events.

Nike+ adapts to consumers’ preferences and features a personalized feed with curated stories created by world-class athletes, experts and the Nike brand. By downloading the app, users can become Nike+ members and book Training Club and Run Club live sessions, spots at special Nike events, and one-on-ones with experts in-store.
The new app comes less than two months after the launch of Under Armour’s UA Shop mobile app that offers in-app product recommendations and athlete inspiration. Under Armour launched its app to compete with Nike’s mobile offering and presence.
In March 2015, the Baltimore-based company acquired MyFitnessPal and Endomondo to expand its mobile presence, while Nike partnered with Garmin, TomTom, Wahoo Fitness and Netpulse for its mobile apps. In addition to the Nike+, Training Club and Run Club apps, the sportswear company has product related app called SNKRS.
Nike also opened a new digital studio in New York City for consumer experiences. The digital studio will house a newly acquired team of tech entrepreneurs, formerly of Virgin Mega, who will initially work on expanding the community and functionality of Nike’s core mobile experiences.
