Wearable tech giant Misfit has announced the launch of its latest fitness tracker, the Misfit Shine 2 Swimmer's Edition. A collaboration with swimming brand Speedo, the tracker is a swim edition of Misfit's existing Shine 2 fitness tracker.

Waterproof and made-to-last with aircraft-grade aluminum, Misfit has also teamed up with Speedo's Aqualab to offer not only durability but also industry-leading accuracy validated by the team at Speedo.

The Misfit Shine 2 Swimmer's Edition tracks the number of laps in both 25 and 50 meter pools as well as total swim distance down to the meter, and works for all stroke types. It also counts down a set swim time and works with Speedo's own Fit app to provide even further insight into your swimming performance.

It also tracks steps taken, distance traveled, and calories burned during dry-land activities such as running, walking, basketball and cycling, as well as monitoring your sleep to give you information on light versus restful sleep, important after a good session in the pool.
