Louis Vuitton fragrances to be launched in September
Luxury French trunk-maker Louis Vuitton will launch its fragrance collection, christened Les Parfums Louis Vuitton, in September. The launch is eagerly awaited and was originally planned for 2014. The label's last perfume dates back to 1946.

The man behind the new scents is perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. He hails from Grasse, the French fragrance capital, and has notably worked for Bulgari (owned like Vuitton by the LVMH group) before Louis Vuitton hired him in 2012. As he explained to Madame Figaro magazine in 2012, he was tasked with the mission of "creating the world's best perfume." It has taken four years of work to reinterpret Louis Vuitton's olfactory world.
Also, a design centre for Dior and Vuitton fragrances, called Les Fontaines Parfumées (The perfumed fountains), will open in Grasse in September.
