Colin Elliot has been appointed the new Chief Financial Officer of British department store retailer House of Fraser. Elliot's role takes effect May 1.

He replaces Mark Gifford, who held the role for eight years and who will stay with the company until September to ensure a smooth transition. Elliot was most recently the Group Finance Director of hotels and leisure business De Vere Group.

Nigel Oddy, CEO, commented: "We are delighted to announce Colin’s appointment as Chief Financial Officer, and I would like to
personally welcome him to the team. He brings a wealth of experience to the business as we continue our growth and expansion both in the UK and internationally."

Mark Gifford, CFO, added: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my
time as CFO for House of Fraser. I have had the honour of working with a very talented team of people and I have every confidence that House of Fraser will continue its successes in the years to come."
