Australian luxury fashion brand Zimmermann announced on Monday it will continue its global retail expansion with the opening of a boutique in Capri, as well as the opening of a boutique in Paris set to launch later this month.
The 764-square-foot store in Capri located on Via Vittorio Emanuele officially opened last week with a two-day celebration that drew the likes of Katie Holmes, Karolina Kurkova and Jessica Hart, to name a few.
Following a store opening in London in 2017 and in St. Tropez in 2018, the Capri boutique marks the brand’s third free-standing store in Europe and its first retail store location in Italy.
“We are very excited to be opening our store in Capri. It’s our first Zimmermann boutique in Italy and it’s a dream to have a store in such an iconic European seaside destination. We thought it was such a perfect location to bring a part of Zimmermann to the Amalfi Coast,” said creative director and co-founder Nicky Zimmermann, in a news statement.
Similarly to other store locations, the Capri boutique was designed by Australian architect Don McQualter of Studio McQualter with a focus on a light, feminine aesthetic, which embodies the Zimmerman brand.
Special décor includes custom metalwork, light fixtures, display tables, millwork and visual merchandising fixtures. Finally, adding some vibrancy to the space are artworks by Australian artist Tom Polo.
The Australian womenswear label, created in Sydney in 1991, has also been expanding in the U.S. with recent store openings in California including in Los Angeles and in San Francisco.
Zimmermann’s largest market is Australia where it operates 20 stores, plus the Zimmermann e-shop launched in 2008. The U.S. is the brand’s second-largest market, where it operates nine mono-brand stores.
