Yves Saint Laurent Beauty partners with Google Glass

Yves Saint Laurent Beauty is rethinking the makeup tutorial. In select stores, the brand has equipped its makeup artists with Google Glass, allowing them to record video as they explains the steps involved in attaining a certain look.

The video is subsequently sent by email to clients who can watch their makeup session from the artist’s perspective.

It’s a new digital retail experience, first offered at Bloomingdales in New York that will also be taken to Selfridges in London by the end of the month.  

Besides the video, clients will receive before and after photos, as well as a list of the products used with direct links to where they may purchase them.

The idea will be rolled out in Asia in October and elsewhere in the world through 2015.
