Window Mannequin features customisable mannequins
Ever since its creation in 1982 by Jean-Marc Mesguich, the Window Mannequin company has focused its mannequin production approach on innovation, design and attitude. Now the 'Caméléon' (Chamaleon) collection allows the creation of 70,000 combinations using the same item.
According to Ralph Hutchings, the company's Creative Director, the idea is to allow each brand to have its own personalised mannequins, different from their competitors', based on their collections and on fashion trends.
To do this, Window Mannequin has created a shop dummy with customisable eyes, mouth and face. Brands may choose from the range created by the company, and also ask to personalise the elements with, for example, their own lipstick colour. The face itself can be changed, to achieve a more realistic or abstract effect.
Hutchings explained that his new project is the 3D printing of these merchandising elements. Nowadays, the priority of all brands is to have an exclusive product available.
Window Mannequin works with brands ranging from fast fashion to luxury labels, and offers a variety of options, featuring models that represent mature women, young people, adolescents, plus sizes etc.
