Estée Lauder has tapped French makeup artist and influencer Violette as its latest global beauty director. Violette has developed a following on social media platforms such as Instagram and YouTube.

In a post on her Instagram page, Violette announced she is proud to be joining the American makeup brand. “I am so honored to be named Estée Lauder Global Beauty Director today. It means a lot to me to be part of a brand that was created by a woman with such an incredible vision in an era when it was not easy for women to create their own business,” she wrote.

As part of her role as global beauty director, Violette will be posting to Estée Lauder’s Instagram page and creating tutorials for its YouTube channel. The French makeup artist already has more than 80,000 subscribers to her own YouTube channel, and over 90,000 followers on her Instagram page.

Violette joins the brand after stints at Dior and La Mer. She will replace Tom Pecheux, who became the global beauty director of YSL earlier this year.

The appointment represents another attempt from the makeup brand to capture a younger market. Estée Lauder recently announced it would discontinue its Estée Edit line, which was fronted by Kendall Jenner and explicitly marketed to millennials, after the brand failed to meet sales expectations. The Estée Lauder Group also recently acquired a stake in Canadian cosmetics brand Deciem
