Very.co.uk has announced that customers can now view over 80 Nike and Adidas product lines on female models of size 8, 14 or 18.

The new feature is designed to help shoppers find the right size and fit by viewing products on different body types. This could result in lower return rates for the fashion retailer, as online consumers tend to order items in multiple sizes and return those that don’t fit.

The tool is available on the Very.co.uk website initially, with plans to launch on the mobile app before the end of the year. The company also wants to add more product lines and it said it is exploring options for rolling out the technology across all sportswear and fashion brands.

Sam Perkins, managing director of retail at The Very Group, said: "We sell a broad range of sizes across our sportswear and fashion ranges and want to do more to both embrace size diversity and give customers confidence in choosing the right size and fit, which they’ve told us loud and clear is a top priority.

“With the support of two of our biggest sportswear brand partners, the launch of our new feature is an important step forwards in delivering this aim.”

Very.co.uk is part of the Very Group, which is one of the largest online sellers of sportswear in the UK. The online fashion destination has nearly tripled sales of sportswear items in the last five years and combined Nike and Adidas sales have grown by more than 200% during the same period.

The new tool on Very.co.uk comes hot on the heels of a similar move by Asos, which launched an augmented reality tool in January to give consumers a simulated view of what their clothing selections would look like on models of various sizes. The See My Fit feature is available across 800 dresses, with 16 models of sizes 4 to 18.
