Valentino to transform an existing Paris address into first menswear boutique

Announced by Maria Grazia Chiuru and Pierpaolo Piccioli in January at the first Valentino menswear runway show in Paris, the fashion house’s next move is to open a menswear-only boutique. The French capital will be home to the concept store which will take the place of the current Valentino women’s store at 27 rue de Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The boutique is expected to open before the end of the year.

Just across the street from the menswear-dominated Givenchy store, works at Valentino are due to start in mid-May. Womenswear will be temporarily relocated to Place Beauvau, the same location used by Prada to welcome clientele during the refurbishment of its Saint-Honoré store a few seasons ago.

British architect David Chipperfield, also responsible for the new Valentino store on Avenue Montaigne, has been commissioned to design the store. The Rome-born fashion house has recently seen an influx of Qatari funds and is looking to expand the menswear concept to other major fashion capitals across the globe including New York.
