After an eventful stay in New York that included stints with Diane Von Furstenberg, The Row, the Olsen sisters' label, and Juliette Longuet, French designer Camille Prévost returned to Paris last June to launch her own upscale handbag line.

The first two models were manufactured in Italy using French and Italian leather, and are distinctive for their removable flaps that can be attached and detached from the handbags' front. "Two sizes were an instant hit," explained the young designer. "The price varies, depending on the flap material, whether pony leather, suede or calfskin, and consumers can customise their handbags by buying as many flaps as they want."

The handbags sell for between €485 and €525 for the large size (flap included), and between €390 and €420 for the smaller model. A new collection will add to the Camille Vost range next May, as the designer plans to introduce some more classic models and a series of clutch bags.

As for the commercial strategy, the label will first focus its expansion efforts through its own e-shop www.camillevost.com, on partner sites l’Exception and www.ohmyfrench.com, as well as through sale events held monthly in private showrooms.

Camille Prévost is aiming to distribute the label through French department stores and multi-brand retailers, and is also hoping to attract clients from Asia and North America.
