The 4,100 sq mt destination will be the largest Uniqlo store in the country and the region, replicating a format that has been previously unveiled in New York, London, Paris, Ginza and Singapore.

Only 11 markets around the world feature Uniqlo global flagship stores, a number that marks the key role that the Philippines and the region play in the company’s growth plans. The Japanese business, famous for its functional essentials, described the region as a “key global growth engine for the brand”.

"We are honored and excited to open our first Uniqlo Global Flagship Store in the Philippines. Having been a member of the local retail scene since 2012, we remain committed to contributing to the local community and to being an integral part of Manila's growth and future," said Satoshi Hatase, chief executive officer of Uniqlo Southeast Asia and Oceania.

Manila has been chosen for the new global flagship store, which will open this coming Fall/Winter season in Glorietta 5, Ayala Avenue, in Makati's central business and commercial district.

The store will stock the latest collections of the brand, as well as the full line-up of its signature LifeWear clothing, all set on a grand scale cutting-edge store design. Large visual displays and state-of-the-art design concepts will create a modern immersive shopping experience for visitors.

"This exciting new retail environment and experience will put our Manila business in the global spotlight. We sense growing enthusiasm in the community here and hope to share the very best of Filipino lifestyle, culture and optimism with the world through our flagship store,” Hatase continued.

Uniqlo has 15 global flagship stores in 11 markets worldwide.
