Dr. Martens wanted to work with Wigan because of his unique take on youth and club culture. For autumn, Wigan has created a collection of six footwear styles in three different prints, as well as a nylon backpack.

Wigan's new prints are exclusive to Dr. Martens and include a segment of one of Wigan’s original paintings from a 1980's Soho nightclub. Another shoe, the "Party People" boot, is decorated with high profile characters from the Wag Club in the 1980s. Vivienne Westwood, Andy Warhol, Stephen Jones, Lee Bowery and Steve Strange are all featured.

Wigan begun his career at i-D in the 1980's and currently lectures on the BA (Hons) illustration and MA Creative Practice programmes at Hull School of Art and Design in the UK.
