UK's Harrys of London names Steven Newey new CEO

Harrys of London, the luxury British men's footwear and accessories brand, looked to another British luxury label when finding a new CEO: Mulberry.

he company has tapped former Mulberry Global Group Commercial Director, Steven Newey, to be its new CEO. Newey has worked for a slew of other luxury companies, including Berluti, Hermès and Loro Piana.

Newey commented: "I am joining this business at an extraordinary time of expansion and global growth and I’m delighted to be working alongside such an experienced team.  The next six months promise to be exciting and challenging as we take Harrys of London to new territories and new audiences."

Harrys of London interim CEO Marty Wikstrom remains as a board member and major shareholder.

Mark Schwartz, CEO of Palladin, which made a control investment in Harrys in October 2014, commented: "Steven's knowledge of product, merchandising and customer service, and his focus on market strategy, made him the ideal person for this exciting role. We welcome Steven to the team and look forward to working with him as we continue to build Harrys of London into a global fashion brand.
