Theory and Comptoir des Cotonniers to open in Uniqlo Tokyo

Fast Retailing is doing everything it can to maximise sales opportunities for its multiple brands and said on Thursday that it’s adding sales space for its Theory and Comptoir des Cotonniers labels inside its Uniqlo Tokyo global flagship.

It’s an interesting development given the different price and style profiles of the two brands compared to the mass-market pricing at Uniqlo.

The spaces will open on October 23 on the first and second floors of the flagship that’s located in the Ginza/Yurakucho area, Japan's foremost shopping district.

The remodelled and radically expanded store opened in June and has been a major hub for Uniqlo’s LifeWear concept. When it opened, the company said it was created “to embody the LifeWear ideal”.

And now Fast Retailing has said the new development will “allow customers to handle and purchase items with the same high quality and comfort of Uniqlo [and] offer customers the opportunity to freely coordinate items from the three brands”.

Theory and Comptoir des Cotonniers will occupy 66 sq m each in the store with the former having a presence for both its menswear and womenswear and the latter being womenswear-only.
