The goal of the IAM ART & FASHION Douala 2015 event is to promote Cameroon, and on a wider scale African, art and fashion. Vlisco, the company specialised in the fabric Wax, a famous African tissue, is the partner for this edition.

To do so, from 2 to 7 October artists and designers will be gathered at the MAM Gallery of Contemporary Art in Douala to discuss and present their creations.

The Dutch company Vlisco is participating in the event with the 6 Cameroonian designers it has asked to revisit a series of Cameroonian loincloths with their own fabric.

The young talents were chosen by Anna Ngann Yonn, designer and founder of the brand Kreyann and Yves Eyaa, Director of the Center of Fashion and Design and promoter of the Yaoundé Forum of the Fashion and Design Trades.

Florence Amanoga Ouloumou, Yapumfout Pasma, Nakuin Kouidou, Martha Ccolque, Anrette Ngafor and Yves Tchinda were thus chosen and will present their creations during the event.

IAM ART & FASHION will also be a place of dialogue, debates and meetings on the topic of artistic creation in Africa and Cameroon with trade professionals like Anna Ngann Yonn, creator of the brand Kreyann’, Juliette Ombang, creator of the brand Black Giraffe, Carm del Praia, founder of Carm Store, and Roger Gerards, Artistic Director of the Vlisco group.
