Designed to support young people aged 16-24 on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment, The Kickstart Scheme will offer six-month posts in over 400 TK Maxx and Homesense stores across the country.

The value clothing and homewares retailer, which includes the TK Maxx brand, said participation in the scheme builds on its long-term commitment “to help vulnerable children and young people achieve their potential in local communities”.

In addition to 25 hours of work experience per week and on-the-job training, the scheme will also provide specialist employability training and resources in partnership with The Prince’s Trust, which is designed to help the young people move into sustained employment when their Kickstart-funded job ends.

Jody Walker, SVP, Group Director, TJX Europe, said: “Kickstart gives an opportunity for young people to learn new skills, gain experience and confidence within a supportive team.

“We’re delighted to continue our longstanding partnership with The Prince’s Trust to provide essential training to these young people, boosting their chances of securing long-term employment. As vacancies arise in our business, we are very hopeful that many will go on to find a career with us here at TJX.”
