Shake-up at Thierry Mugler

Following Creative Director Nicola Formichetti’s move over to Diesel, the Thierry Mugler company announced in a statement Friday the departures of Sébastien Peigné and Romain Kremer, designers of the label’s women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collection. The company also said that Thierry Mugler himself, artistic director of Thierry Mugler Parfums since 1992, is leaving this job but that he would stay on as creative consultant to Joel Palix, president of Clarins Fragrance Group and director general of Thierry Mugler SAS.

Joel Palix announced that perfume and fashion would be run under one united creative team.

Essentially, the creative team that was supposed to orchestrate the comeback of the Thierry Mugler brand in fashion and accessories has left the designer house.

The company also announced the reorganization of the brand’s creative direction under a single strategy for perfumes and fashion. “It is time to unite both activities under one single creative management and turn Mugler into a global and fully integrated luxury brand with a synergetic approach across fashion, accessories and fragrances,” said Joel Palix.

When contacted for more information, the Mugler company did not want to comment on the new strategy.
