In her new position, Kohn will be responsibly for leading the company’s merchandising team and driving its strategy.

The executive joins Sally Beauty from Dollar Tree, Inc.’s Family Dollar division, where she served as executive vice president and chief merchandising and marketing officer, having previously held the same role at The Fresh Market.

Prior to this, the Northwestern University graduate spent 13 years at Walmart, serving in a range of merchandising, sourcing and real estate-related roles.

Kohn’s previous experience also includes a two-year period at Stop & Shop and eight years working as SVP for merchandising and marketing at Food Lion.

“Pam is a seasoned, successful merchant who is passionate about the customer and who has a proven track record of delivering results,” said Sally Beauty President and CEO Chris Brickman in a release. “She will help us continue to build our strong assortment of owned and exclusive brands that differentiate both Sally Beauty and Beauty Systems Group. Pam brings so much to the table, and I am excited to have her join our senior leadership team and help drive our transformation.”

The company, which is currently in the midst of implementing a transformation plan, reported earnings of $71.2 million in the third quarter ended June 30, 2019, an increase of 22.2% year over year, as successful cost-cutting measures and store closures counteracted slight declines in sales of $975.2 million.
