The Paris-based SIL-International Lingerie Show is an institution in the industry, but all the same it intends to innovate and show it can adapt to new consumption patterns. This is why show organiser Eurovet has called on Matthieu Pinet, founder of fashion e-commerce site The Shape of the Season.

Pinet's mission for the show is to launch an inspirational new section, one closer to the new consumer preferences and designed to de-compartmentalise lingerie. The new section will be called 'Uncover' and will host about forty brands, most of them newly launched, of course. It will be an integral part of the trade show, but also have its own dedicated entrance, as a way of marking the approach to a new world, a section that will be innovative both in terms of style and content.

Without revealing anything else for the time being, the organisers have indeed promised that with ‘Uncover’ they are trying to "reinvent the way to exhibit.”

Matthieu Pinet, whose background is fashion, and especially ready-to-wear, has the task of bringing a breath of fresh air to the show's January 2017 edition. SIL has specifically sought out his cross-sectional, eclectic approach: between 2002 and 2005 Pinet worked for ready-to-wear trade show Prêt-à-Porter Paris  and, besides his website, he has also created a digital design agency, The Shape.
