A veteran of collaborations, such as with Jean-Charles de Castelbajac last season, and Tommy Hilfiger next winter, Rossignol has announced its new partner for autumn-winter 2018/19, namely Italian designer, Andrea Pompilio.

The 44-year-old designer has created a men’s and women’s Studio line for the brand born in the French Alps, composed of 30 pieces linking sports heritage and urban influences. The capsule collection will be presented at Pitti Uomo in January 2018, and then distributed through the Grenoble’s label multi-brand network – nearly 500 stores – as well as in its seven boutiques, and on its e-shop.

"We chose Andrea Pompilio for his modern vision of urban style: elegant, refined and functional. Throughout his career, Andrea has demonstrated great talent and expertise in mastering this combination, and we believe his vision perfectly embodies the spirit of our urban capsule," says Alessandro Locatelli, CEO of Rossignol Apparel, a textile division of the Rossignol group created in 2015. Andrea Pompilio, who presents his own men's collection in Milan, has collaborated in the past with labels such as Yves Saint Laurent, Prada and Calvin Klein.

Like Fusalp or Moncler, the specialist mountain sports brand has been operating since 2016 and has been diversifying through the development of a premium ready-to-wear line. The brand, which has chosen biathlete Martin Fourcade as its muse, is part of the Rossignol group, which also holds Look, Dynastar, Time and Raidlight in particular. The company’s reported sales of 242.5 million euros in 2015/16.
