Ralph Lauren has opened a UK standalone store for its Double RL sub-brand at 3 Newburgh Street in Carnaby this week.

The heritage label, named after Ralph and Ricky Lauren's 'Double RL' ranch in Colorado, had previously a standalone store on Mount Street in London which is now closed.

So the Carnaby store will be the only UK location for Double RL (also known as RRL).

Founded over 20 years ago, the brand has a vintage focus with a selection of clothing that includes selvedge denim and utility-inspired garments. The store interior supports this positioning, featuring rustic décor and period antique fixtures.

The 634 sq ft space joins US neighbours Filson, Shinola and Levi’s Vintage Clothing in the popular shopping destination.

Samantha Bain-Mollison, head of retail at Shaftesbury said: “We are thrilled to welcome RRL to Carnaby. As part of a timeless American brand with heritage at its core, it is the perfect fit for the Newburgh Quarter, which we are proud to be home to a unique mix of premium, independent and one-off brands. The growing number of international brands choosing Carnaby to open their first standalone stores reinforces the destination as a global fashion capital.”

The Carnaby Street area has recently welcomed Danish clothing brand Samsøe & Samsøe and Parisian women’s fashion label Ba&sh.
