The Parisian textile and leather trade show will bring together 1,898 exhibitors, 139 of them new, from 13th to 15th September at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre. The figures are "encouraging, given the prevailing atmosphere," according to the show organiser.

PV Fabrics - Première Vision Paris

The show’s sections are Fabrics, for textiles, featuring some 789 exhibitors, Yarns, for fibres (53), Leather, for leather products (311), Design, for textile design (248), Accessories, for assorted supplies (321), and Manufacturing, for regional sourcing (176), including 33 specialists in creative flat knits within the Knitwear Solutions section. The leading countries in terms of exhibitor numbers are Italy (688), France (260), Turkey (152) and the UK (141). Others include Spain (92), Portugal (60), Japan (55), Germany (45), China (39) and South Korea (39).

"One of this edition's key points is the restructuring of the different sections in halls 5 and 6," stated Gilles Lasbordes, the show's General Manager. "Yarns has moved next to Knitwear Solutions, which is in turn close to Manufacturing, in hall 6. The purpose of this relocation is to bring yarn producers closer to knitwear manufacturers, and the latter to suppliers. This way, the range on offer is mapped out more clearly."

The forthcoming edition will also provide the opportunity for strengthening the sourcing section at Première Vision Paris. PV Manufacturing, which focuses on suppliers from the Europe-Mediterranean area and the Indian Ocean, will benefit from its proximity to The Sourcing Connection Première Vision show. The latter event is more focused on major export markets and will be held for the first time in September at the Paris Event Center, at Porte de la Villette. This physical proximity is enhanced by the deployment of free shuttles between the two events.

Trend-scouting professionals will be very busy, with 16 sections and forums extending over more than 5,000 m² at their disposal, each dedicated to a skill, a product or a market. In addition to these, there will be inspirational videos at Première Vision Fabrics and Leather, and a series of trend seminars. Not to mention the cross-sectional and multimedia features linked to the Smart Creation Première Vision programme, whose main theme will be the protection of water resources, a challenge which personal care giant Procter & Gamble will focus on in a dedicated section.

One of this edition's main events will be the publication of the first IFM-Première Vision survey, zooming in on textile and leather goods exhibitors, and aiming to gauge the condition of their businesses in relation to the world average in their respective markets. As in every edition, another key moment will be the ceremony for the PV Awards, while PV Designs will present the work of the 24 finalists for the Texprint competition.

For the September 2015 edition, Première Vision Paris brought together some 61,700 professional visitors and 1,900 exhibitors. Attendance was stable, with 74% of visitors coming from outside France, despite the highly unsettled international economic climate.
