Customers who would like to return an item no longer need to visit local PostNL service points to do so. From today onwards, customers are able to hand their returns to PostNL delivery staff at their front door during regular company delivery rounds without needing to schedule a pick-up appointment. The staff member will then return the item on behalf of the customer.

PostNL said in a press release that the newly launched service saves on additional transport, which results in a more sustainable operation. Additionally, the service is more convenient for customers, said the company.

“PostNL is very aware of the impact it has on the world around it. Making transport movements more sustainable is therefore an important part of the [company’s] sustainability strategy. In order to respond optimally to specific customer needs, products and processes are continuously improved and renewed,” the parcel company commented in a press release.

The new return service is available throughout the Netherlands and is free of charge.
