At first glance they appear to be mere details, yet they reveal how popular the eco-sustainable approach is at all levels in the fashion world... and in society in general. For the first time, the Pitti Uomo show has not printed the thick exhibitors' catalogue it used to distribute to the media and buyers...

It has also dispensed with the calendar of its countless events, usually printed on dozens of pages. Now it's all featured on a simple double-sided sheet of paper!

Finally, the show's organisers wish to eliminate access badges once and for all, and are increasingly encouraging visitors to register directly through the Pittismart app, launched in January 2015. For the current edition, one third of visitors, approximately 10,000 people, have used the app.

The app is easily downloaded on a smartphone and offers various services: from priority access to the many events organised by Pitti Immagine, to the purchase of discounted tickets for buyers who use the app, to the show's floor plan, the detailed list of exhibitors, previously featured on the paper catalogue, as well as events, etc.

Among the 'smart' ideas that were much appreciated at Pitti Uomo's edition no. 89, the upright columns with mini-cables for recharging mobile phones, placed at strategic locations throughout the show, from the media room to the restaurant's entrance. They were very useful whilst queueing!
