The 19-year-old American singer, songwriter and model Pia Mia (Perez) has been chosen by Madonna to act as Fashion Director for her Macy's junior line Material Girl.

Inspired by her daughter Lourdes, who is also 19, Madonna first created the Material Girl junior line in 2010. In a statement published by the American press, she explains that Pia's "creativity, confidence and unique sense of style make her a perfect addition to the brand." 

Pia Mia made her breakthrough on the music scene through videos posted on YouTube. She now has a deal with Interscope Records and four million Instagram followers.

Material Girl has also formed a partnership with content creator StyleHaul to produce a six-episode documentary about Perez's life, in which she will be wearing pieces from the label, which will debut on May 10 in New York.
