Biennale 1.618, an event dedicated to luxury and sustainable development initially scheduled on June 5-7 in Paris, will instead be held in December. The event, featuring fashion, beauty and home decoration brands and promoting a more responsible way of living, has been postponed like other trade shows due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Its sixth edition will be held on December 4-6, still at the Carreau du Temple venue in Paris.

1.618 Paris, the design and communication agency which organises the event, stated in a press release that “it is already working to prepare the event, in the midst of this unprecedented crisis and mindful of the lessons we can draw from it.” The organisers also urged the public to think about the post-coronavirus world.

“These are lockdown times and everything seems to have ground to a halt but, once it will all be over, we will be even keener to get together with the best in the art of sustainable living. In the post-virus world, we will need plenty of creative, positive, ethical and responsible energy!” wrote 1.618 Paris.

Biennale 1.618 was first held in 2009 and, as its website indicates, “it is a unique experience that combines a marketplace, an innovation space, a contemporary art exhibition, and a think tank. (...) The event contributes to changing consumers’ behaviour by offering concrete, inspiring alternatives and a different approach to sustainable development: raising awareness while fostering a sense of beauty.”
