Orlebar Brown announced this week the opening of its first New York City store at 451 Broome Street in SoHo.

The SoHo store features white shelving and table fixtures, dark wood floors, a red shelving unit and a radiant photo from the brand’s campaign that brightens much of the store. The new store carries the London swim brand’s 2016 men’s and boys’ summer collections including swim trunks, polo shirts, sneakers and accessories.

Orlebar Brown SoHo precedes the opening of the brand’s permanent East Hampton location that is slated to open on this month. The East Hampton store is located at 55 Newtown Lane, and the stores combine for over 1,300 square feet.

"Over the last few years, America has become increasingly important to OB," said Brown. "Over 30% of our sales come from the US and it feels absolutely right and natural that we have permanent homes in two of our favorite locations."

Photographer Adam Brown founded Orlebar Brown in 2007 to offer a more tailored approach to men’s beach and swim shorts. He was inspired to launch the brand when he attended friend’s 40th birthday party and took notice to how the male attendees did not look as chic as the women at the party because of their baggy and bright board shorts.

Orlebar Brown currently operates 12 stores worldwide in New York City; Noosa, Australia; Notting Hill, South Kensington, Covent Garden, Mayfair, and Canary Wharf in London; Cannes and St. Tropez in France; Knokke-le-Zoute in Belgium; Istanbul, Turkey and Playa del Carmen in Mexico.
