The Copenhagen Fashion Summit is on a road show to enhance its reputation in the international fashion industry. This conference for sustainable fashion launched in 2009 by the Danish Fashion Institute and the Nordic Fashion Association is readying its third edition. The summit will take place April 23–24, 2014 and was presented at an evening event in Paris during fashion week.

Eva Kruse, CEO of the Danish Fashion Institute, organizer of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit at the event’s 2012 edition.

In the wake of the successful edition held in May 2012 that drew 1,200 attendees, Eva Kruse, CEO of the Danish Fashion Council, spoke at the Paris event to give an overview of the summit’s next edition. This year the sessions at the Copenhagen Fashion Summit will focus on providing solutions: "We talk a lot about the impact of fashion on the environment, we have obviously discussed existing policies, but this year we would like to address specific current and future solutions," explained Eva Kruse.

With seven months until the summit, several speakers have already been announced, such as Marie-Claire Daveu, chief sustainability officer and head of international institutional affairs at Kering; Livia Firth, founder of the Eco Age agency and the "Green Carpet Challenge"; and Vanessa Friedman, fashion journalist for the Financial Times.

The audience for the May 2012 summit attracted a large number of luxury brands, groups and retailers. Kering already sent a speaker last year, as did Gucci Group, Patagonia and H & M, along with designer Bruno Pieters.
