MCM's goal is to speed up its development in matters of technology. Its e-commerce is notably currently present in the United States and Korea but the company wants to develop it worldwide.

"Putting a highly skilled management team in place clearly shows MCM's ambitions for the next phase of its development," said the company.

The goal behind John Douglas' arrival as CIO is to build a digital technology base to achieve its strategy for global growth. He will work on the construction of information and infrastructure systems, the implementation of SAP, the development and evolution of the e-commerce site, etc.

"With ambitious expansion plans and a clear strategy for investing in digital and technological capabilities at the global level, I couldn't be happier to join MCM, a leader in the New School of Luxury which has positioned itself as one of the great global brands of luxury," said John Douglas. "Even though the brand underwent a major transformation over the last decade, I sense that the next chapter for MCM is only beginning."

MCM recorded $540m in revenue for 2014. It has 300 stores across 35 countries and is sold at some 250 multibrand retailers. It recently opened new flagships in Frankfurt and New York.
