The new owner of M&Co said on Monday that he plans to relaunch the brand after buying it out of administration back in February.

Andrew Killingworth added it to his growing fashion empire that includes the Yours Clothing, BadRhino and PixieGirl labels he founded as well as acquired label Long Tall Sally.

He said he’s “excited about the opportunities” that the takeover of M&Co brings “not only to us as a brand, but to existing and new customers of M&Co too”.

He added that it has held “a strong reputation as a local family brand that customers trust to find high-quality clothing at an affordable price, and we are committed to maintaining these values as we move forward and build upon M&Co’s strong legacy”.

All of the brand’s stores were closed as a result of it going into administration and Killingworth also said he has “big plans for the brand, with an immediate focus on M&Co’s digital presence”. The brand-new website is set to launch at the end of June and there will also be an app that “coming soon”.

The initial focus of the new webstore will be a range of womenswear product — including curve and petite collections. This makes sense given Killingworth’s wider business’s specialisms in those areas via Yours and PixieGirl. But the product offering will expand into further categories “in the near future”.

The fashion entrepreneur also said that “M&Co has enormous potential, and we are excited to bring our expertise and experience to the table. We want to ensure that M&Co continues to be a beloved and trusted brand for generations to come”.
