Canadian athletic brand lululemon has unveiled plans to open a flagship store on London’s Regent Street this winter.

The 8,200 sq ft store will become the company’s European flagship, and will span three floors at 187-189 Regent Street. The current occupier of the site, lifestyle brand GANT, will relocate to 184-186 Regent Street.

The plans for the new store were developed in collaboration with The Crown Estate, the commercial business behind a diverse portfolio of UK lands and holdings.

Katerina Mercury, Asset Manager for The Crown Estate’s Regent Street Portfolio said: “lululemon’s new flagship on Regent Street will showcase the brand’s fantastic range of cutting edge, technical sportswear, whilst providing a truly unique and innovative in-store experience for shoppers. We’re delighted to be working with lululemon to bring this exciting new concept to Regent Street.”

Lululemon has also UK stores in London’s Covent Garden, Marylebone, Chelsea, Westfield shopping centre and in Edinburgh.

The letting forms part of The Crown Estate’s on-going £1 billion investment programme for Regent Street, which has, since 2002, transformed the area into the world’s most popular retail and leisure destination.

In the past year, international brands such as Kate Spade, Hugo Boss and Stefanel have taken up residence on Regent Street.
