Loop Generation to open in Chelsea after major investment

Just a few weeks after we learned that some big names in UK fashion have invested in Loop Generation, the company has announced that it’s opening its first London store.

Last month it said Ghost and Finery owner Touker Suleyman and New Look founder Tom Singh have become investors in the business.

And now it’s officially opening its first London store on 19 May at 295 Brompton Road in Chelsea.

The London-headquartered company specialises in designer pre-owned womenswear, menswear, accessories, shoes and unused beauty products, curated by Polish-born founders Ewa Kozieja and Piotr Krzymowski.

As well as being available in the new store, the offer can also be found online.

But the opening is a particularly important development as e-tail sector growth across the UK is slowing and consumers are now happy to venture into physical stores again. That’s especially so at this moment with those same consumers often seeking out higher-quality pieces at lower prices, either by renting or — as here — buying secondhand.

The firm’s new investors have joined the business at a time when resale doesn’t only appeal because of its value credentials but for sustainability reasons.

Loop Generation said an estimated £30 billion worth of unworn clothing hangs in UK wardrobes alone. As an authenticated luxury resale platform, its aim is to “offer customers both the opportunity to buy and sell the finest items whilst promoting an interest in mindful shopping, cutting down on needless consumption and focusing fundamentally on quality”.
