French skin care and perfume brand L’Officine Universelle Buly opened on Tuesday its first-ever US apothecary at Bergdorf Goodman. The 19th century brand brings a piece of its history to New York City through the new shop.

The apothecary, which is located on Bergdorf Goodman’s Beauty Level, features ivory-colored cracked lacquer with brass accents, and furniture that was entirely manufactured in France and shipped to the US for the store. Also, original advertising posters from the 1920s were pulled from the archives for the new location.

In store, customers will find the French brand’s beloved Pomade Concrete, Eau Triple, and Huile Antique products, and marble encased scented candles. The perfumer is noted for its skin and body care, fragrance and grooming products that remain true to ancient recipes.

Founded by Jean-Vincent Buly in 1803, L’Officine Universelle Buly was revived by Ramdane Touhami and Victoire de Taillac-Touhami less than five years ago. The 19th century perfumer recently opened a standalone store in Tokyo, and it currently operates retail locations in Paris, Taipei, and Seoul.

The brand also has plans to open in Hong Kong and London, as well as a second location in Paris.
