Bellinger is a professor at the Harvard Kennedy School. Her area of study includes diversity, inclusion and leadership development. She also has a seat on the board at Pattern Energy Group Inc., Sodexo and Sonepar Group.

Schottenstein is the chairman and CEO of M/I Homes which is one of the leading home building entities in the US. He also serves on the board of Installed Building Products, Inc.

Bellinger and Schottenstein join the board as previous Board member Jeffrey H. Miro announced his retirement after an 11 year tenure on the Board. According to Leslie H. Wexner, L Brands chairman and chief executive officer, Miro "brought a level of sophistication to our thinking – particularly around corporate governance and real estate."

Wexner explained the company will rely on Bellinger's and Schottenstein's expertise to continue growing and driving the business forward. Wexner said they are both "business leaders who have built their careers through elevating others and delivering performance [which are] principles that drive our business."

L Brands business includes over 3,000 company owned specialty stores that operate in the US, Canada, the UK and China. L Brands also has 750 franchises worldwide. L Brands owns Victoria’s Secret, Pink, Bath & Body Works, La Senza and Henri Bendel.
