As the outbreak of Covid-19 continues to cause fashion events to be canceled or postponed for weeks to come, denim tradeshow Kingpins is going online.

On March 24, the trade show announced Kingpins24, an online denim event scheduled for April 22 through 23, the original dates of the now-cancelled Kingpins Amsterdam show.

The cancellation of the Amsterdam show followed Kingpins' February announcement that it would be cancelling its Hong Kong show scheduled for May 13 through 14, also in response to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Through the new virtual event, Kingpins organizers and attendees will discuss the denim supply chain’s offerings for the Fall/Winter 2021 season, covering trends, innovation and more with live stream content including line presentations, sustainability and CSR updates, panels and interviews, as well as on-demand content from Kingpins’ industry partners and friends.

“We, as a whole, are resilient, resourceful and optimistic,” said Kingpins Show founder, Andrew Olah, who will act as the host of Kingpins24.

“When one door closes another opens. We believe Kingpins24 can give our global industry a chance to connect and share information. We have no other desire but to be a conduit for the denim world during these difficult times, where most of us, including me, are at home far away from our normal world.”

Kingpins24 will go live at 9AM CET on April 22 and end at midnight on April 23. Those interested in the event can register online.

For now, Kingpins still has shows scheduled for New York from June 2 through 3, and a 'China City Tour' scheduled for September.
