The group, which includes Gucci, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and Balenciaga, is making the move to celebrate the 34th edition of the European Heritage Days.

Visitors will be able to access the historic address of 40 rue de Sèvres, Paris, on September 16 and 17, taking in contemporary artwork from the Pinault Collection via an exhibition titled ‘Faire Avec'. Haute couture creations by Cristóbal Balenciaga will also be on display, with 23 pieces by the designer on view in the ‘Croix Est' part of the building. A digital journey back in time, created with the help of virtual reality, will also allow visitors to learn about the history of the building itself, which started life as a hospice in 1634.

"The two new temporary exhibitions combine heritage and creation, two fundamental values that embody the luxury group we are: the first, with a selection of works signed by renowned artists from the contemporary arts scene, both multicultural and universal; the second, through the creations of Cristóbal Balenciaga, one of the most avant-garde creators of his time," said Kering chairman and chief executive officer François-Henri Pinault in a statement.

Kering first participated in the European Heritage Days in 2016, drawing more than 11,000 visitors to 40 rue de Sèvres.
