John Varvatos, Moda Operandi among winners at 2015 ACE Awards

The Accessories Council held its 19th annual Accessories Council Excellence Awards in New York City on Monday. The awards celebrate designers, design houses, journalists, publications and individuals from the entertainment industry that have had a positive impact on the accessories industry.

John Varvatos was honored with the prestigious Designer of the Year Award, becoming the first menswear designer to win the award. Swarovski was awarded with the Legacy Award; Nancy Gonzalez and Moda Operandi won the Innovation and Retail Innovation Awards, respectively; the Specialty Retailer Award went to Mitchells; and the Evolution Award went to Eddie Borgo.
 
Additional winners included Ivanka Trump, who was presented with the Breakthrough Award from Carolina Herrera; Ariel Foxman, Editorial Director of InStyle & StyleWatch/NYC, who won the Marylou Luther Journalism Award; Claudio Gottardi, President & CEO of Marchon Eyewear, was honored with the Leadership Award; and Empire actress, Taraji P. Henson and Empire costume designer, Paolo Nieddu were each presented with the Influencers Award.

Honorees are nominated and voted upon by the Accessories Council Board of Directors, accessory retailers and the fashion press.
