Inès de la Fressange debuts her new scent project
She’s the most Parisienne of all Parisians, just like her latest scents. Former runway star, 'It' girl, fashion icon, designer and author Inès de la Fressange has launched her latest fragrance collection, and done so in a typical offbeat manner.
De la Fressange invited friends and editors to a 19th century artists' atelier to unveil the two scents, packaged in white and gold and displayed in multiple ways: shining white rotating holograms; a video of ad campaign and in various displays by the two noses who worked on the scents. While small wagons and carts offered macarons; cakes, juices and cookies in matching colors to the various perfumes.
Named Blanc Chic and Or Choc, the two eau de parfums began retailing on May 20 exclusively in the giant beauty retail chain Marionnaud, in store and online, as well as at Inès de la Fressange boutiques and online store. The scents are designed to be worn separately or together.
“Chic with a little touch of rock and roll, is always chicer,” enthused de la Fressange.
Besides the eaux de parfum, de la Fressange developed six “eaux de voyage,” or small travel scents inspired by her many voyages. They have names like Atelier de Medina, composed of sandalwood, cedar and freesia; or Bella Storia, made of citron caviar, verbena and jasmine.
“They are meant to be olfactory postcards of my preferred destinations. Like when you arrive somewhere, close your eyes, and breathe in the local atmosphere. And you know, you’re there! From India or Japan to Morocco or Naples,” said de la Fressange.
The former ambassador of Chanel, and Marianne of France, Inès collaborated with the famed French perfume juice producer IFF and two of its most noted noses – Delphine Lebeau and Sophie Labbé.
“I wanted really affordable luxury, and we got it,” said de la Fressange, which she surely achieved.
A 60 ml eau de parfum retails for €59.99; all the way to small 10 ml flacons priced at €19.99.
