Icon Outlet, the 210,000 sq ft outlet mall that opened at The O2 in Greenwich, London, last year, has just announced a new tenant and it’s an interesting one with fashion retail ‘events’ firm Showcase signing up.

Showcase

Its new 3,400 sq ft showroom will host its first retail event in June and the mall operators said that the signing “will complement The O2’s 360-degree experience which merges retail at Icon Outlet with dining and world class entertainment.”

Showcase hosts private sample sales for its members, including womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, and homewares and the new showroom will be only the second site for the brand, following its debut on Regent Street.

It said it works with “trusted brand partners and leading fashion houses” to provide “a fully managed, ethical and high-volume sales channel, whilst creating an exclusive retail experience for brand fans."

The move is an undeniably good fit with The O2 being one of the world’s premier entertainment venues and a huge driver of foot traffic to the mall that’s just next door.

Marion Dillon, Leasing Director for Icon Outlet, said the offer of “exclusive sales with leading retail brands will appeal to our varying demographic whilst drawing in new brand advocates. These continual retail events will complement the ongoing rotation of leading entertainment, provided by The O2,  and follows the launch of our phase 2 dining offer, enhancing further the fusion of retail, entertainment and, dining, offered.”

Showcase’s CEO Katie Holland added that the company is continuing to evolve its retail offer and its events should “complement and enhance the fashion offer” already available at the mall.
