“Toronto's diversity and vibrancy makes it one of North America's most exciting places to be and reflects the Hunter ethos, which is why it’s where we decided to open our third standalone store and the brand’s first in North America,” explained Alasdhair Willis, Creative Director.

The 2800-square-foot store was developed by Hunter’s in-house retail design team and reflects Hunter’s spirit of the outdoors and weather. The shopfront resembles a contemporary greenhouse with an interior architectural style anchored by an open sky view.

“Visitors will ‘look out’ from the contemporary barn architecture onto a backdrop of the Scottish Highlands - the birthplace of the Hunter brand,” the company described in a news statement.

Meanwhile, in store weather elements are expected to change seasonally.

To celebrate the opening of the store, and to mark Canada’s 150 birthday, Hunter has also released a limited-edition backpack in the country’s red and white national colours. Baptized the Toronto Limited Edition Original Top Clip Backpack, it is crafted from rubberised leather and adorned with a red maple leaf, and will be exclusively available at Yorkdale.

In adddition, Hunter’s Yorkdale store will carry the autumn/winter 2017 mens, womens and kids Hunter Original footwear, outerwear and accessories collections alongside the Hunter Field technical collection.

The Toronto location marks Hunter’s third global standalone store.
