The Tommy-Hugo connection is still strong. After bolstering his entourage with former Tommy Hilfiger senior managers, Daniel Grieder, who has been in charge of Hugo Boss since June 2, has further put his stamp on the German fashion giant, for which he has ambitious plans, by hiring another top manager from among his former colleagues. Christopher Körber is in fact about to become the general manager of the Hugo Boss Ticino facility in Coldrerio, Switzerland, which takes care of the German group’s footwear and leather accessories, bodywear, hosiery, knitwear and shirt categories. Körber will start in his new role on October 4.

Hugo Boss has hired Christopher Körber - Xing

Körber had previously worked at Hugo Boss from 1998 to 2007, notably as head of brand management for footwear and accessories. In his new role, he will report directly to Grieder.

The two executives know each other for having worked together at Tommy Hilfiger. Körber has been with the US fashion group for the past 10 years, most recently as president of Tommy Hilfiger Product and Tommy Hilfiger Global.

He will be in charge of the commercial activity and product management functions of Hugo Boss’s Coldrerio business unit. The industrial activity of Hugo Boss Ticino remains in the hands of Francesco Cicognani, as senior vice-president product development and operations.

From October 1, Cicognani will also oversee the operational activities of the group's Leather, Footwear and Accessories Division, in addition to those of the Apparel Division, and will continue to report to Heiko Schäfer, the group's Chief Operating Officer, as Hugo Boss has stated, adding that Körber's post is newly created. Previously, areas of responsibility were allocated differently.

As part of this organisational change, Filippo Bernasconi, senior vice-president Brand & Creative Management Shoes & Leather Accessories, and Davide Corniolo, general manager Hugo Boss Ticino and senior vice-president operations Shoes & Leather Accessories and Finance & Business Services, are leaving the company.
