“Hermès is pleased to announce that its Resort 20121 collection will be presented in London on April 28th 2020,” the house revealed to FashionNetwork.com.

For the past three seasons, Hermès’ women’s designer Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski has presented an annual resort show in Paris, staged inside the house’s famed flagship store on the Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

The news of a UK voyage marks a significant change in dates; for the past several seasons, Hermès has staged its cruise collection at the beginning of the Paris couture season in the opening week of July.

Preferring an intimate setting before just a few score of editors, actresses and women of distinction, on an upper floor, often accompanied by live music. In July 2016, for instance, Jarvis Cocker played guitar, joined by Serafina Steer on classical harp; while in 2018 indie pop musician Perfume Genius provided the sounds.

In her cruise debut show, Vanhee-Cybulski emphasized reworked Hermès print handkerchief-hemmed dresses; glossy calfskin windcheaters and woven leather sneakers. While her most recent cruise collection in July 2018 concentrated on leather military shirts; and silk dresses covered in thin strips of leather in graphic patterns.

No news yet on where Hermès plans to show, but expect something jaunty and elegantly elegiac.
