Giorgio Armani has confirmed his engagement in favour of young creativity, by allowing an emerging designer to show at the Armani/Teatro theatre during the Milan Fashion Week, for the sixteenth consecutive season.

Once again, the emerging name chosen by Giorgio Armani hails from China: it is Xuzhi Chen, who will show at Armani/Teatro on 24th February with his label Xu Zhi, as part of the forthcoming Milan Women's Fashion Week.

Xuzhi Chen was born in China and moved to London to study at the Central Saint Martins College of Arts & Design. He then established his own atelier in the British capital, having worked for emerging UK labels J.W. Anderson and Craig Green.

In 2014 he founded his own women's luxury ready-to-wear label, Xu Zhi, distinctive for its contemporary couture mood, at once straightforward and sophisticated, paying great attention to details, notably fabric research, cuts and garment construction.

Xu Zhi soon made its name with a host of directional buyers and is already available at 17 multibrand stores, chiefly in China, at Lane Crawford in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai, but also at Opening Ceremony in Tokyo and the Dover Street Market in London.

Xuzhi Chen came to the fashion industry's attention in 2016, by taking part in the prestigious Woolmark Prize and LVMH Prize awards.
